Not adapting to new circumstances – the fastest path to failure

Not adapting to new circumstances – the fastest path to failure

big reason why local shops don’t get enough people through the door

is because they’re not adapted to new circumstances.

Some stores remain the same for years

and owners continue to do the same things

that worked up until a year ago,

2 years ago, 5 years ago, 10 years ago…

Until it doesn’t work anymore.

One of our clients had been running her hair salon

for OVER 15 YEARS and told me

she was fine with how things went

and fine with her clientele

She didn’t need change, she said.

UNTIL

Customers didn’t come anymore.

Customers started to complain about her salon.

Her buyers didn’t want to pay the price she was asking anymore.

AND

she started to wonder why sales went down so suddenly

and why people weren’t coming like they used to

Why…?

Because times change, society changes, people change,

buying habits change, customer behaviour changes,

AND WHAT NOT?

I know dedicated shop owners who put all their passion in their shop

who dedicate their time, energy, love to presenting

the most beautiful products or the best services,

who go OUT OF THEIR WAY to serve their customers at the highest level

But unfortunately that’s not enough.

When the world around us changes, we have to change too.

We have to adapt our way of working to the NEW CIRCUMSTANCES.

Are you approaching your audience in the same way

like you did 1, 2, 5, 10 or even 20 years ago…?

What is YOUR PLAN to adapt to the changes

and get much more customers asap?

Shopping now is completely different than shopping last year,

the year before or even before the pandemic because of:

  • Covid – people have changed, and how they buy has changed too
  • the enormous growth of internet and e-commerce – some people don’t buy in physical stores anymore
  • many young people now move to bigger cities – smaller villages see less and less shopping visitors
  • big retailers are taking many customers away from smaller shops in the high streets

How are you ADAPTING your high street shop?

What are you doing, learning and putting into practice now

so you can get more customers NOW and next month, next year,…?

UNSURE how to handle this?

Blinded by the loads of information on the internet?

Don’t know what to put FOCUS on?

I’d love to listen to you, guide and support you.

If you’d like to talk to me about what you’re struggling with in your shop,
